Let's Play: Blitz Chess #2 || The King's Gambit Blasting to an Instructional Endgame Live Commentary

Hello there! I am on a journey to increase my blitz chess rating, so I can play better in time presure for chess tournaments!

My current goal is to reach a blitz rating of 1700 rating on chess.com, while talking through my ideas. I do this to force myself to verbally express my ideas and clarify them.

Needless to say, talking while trying to think under time preasure can be... difficult. This can make for some pretty hilarious blunders at times. I hope you enjoy the video! :)

Another interesting game, due to the nature of the transition from opening to middle to endgame... Also, I rather enjoyed the bishop manuver at the end. :)

Solution to the Puzzle: 1.)Nd7+, forcing the king to move. The bishop prevents Kd8 1.) ...,Kg8 2.) Nf6+, Kf8 3.)Bd6# A rather simple puzzle this time around. :)

If you liked the video, please leave a like and consider subscribing, as I am in the process of trying to make frequent videos. :)

BEGINNER TO 2000 - COMPLETE CHESS STRATEGY PART 1: THE MOST IMPORTANT IDEA

Part 1 of my Complete Chess Strategy course for beginners all the way till 2000+. This will be a 10 part series covering total chess strategy. My understanding is simple and comprehensive and much more applicable and practical than using "imbalances" or other methods. Chess rules and generalities give you pieces to memorize and leave you confused rather than clear. I will teach you chess strategy as strong players actually think during a real chess game when you only have a short time to think. You will gain real chess understanding and clarify what you should do in every chess position. From this chess strategy course for beginners we will delve into tactics and other areas of chess but I want my viewers to have a solid base to grow from. Perfect for 1600-1900 intermediate chess players as well to learn how experts and master think about chess. You will see the difference between learning chess rules to learning chess concepts where you can actually apply them to real game situations as you understand the framework behind these ideas.

ChessDiagnostic is youtube's premier chess channel teaching everything about chess in quality concept videos as well as game analysis and lessons about chess information. Follow along on this journey and you're sure to improve your chess game!

Book | Power Play: The Literature and Politics of Chess in the Late Middle Ages

Get your free audio

The game of chess reached western Europe by the year 1000, and within several generations it had become one of the most popular pastimes ever. Both men and women, and even priests played the game despite the Catholic Church's repeated prohibitions. Characters in countless romances, chansons de geste, and moral tales of the eleventh through twelfth centuries also played chess, which often symbolized romantic attraction or sexual consummation.in Power Play, Jenny Adams looks to medieval literary representations to ask what they can tell us both about the ways the game changed as it was naturalized in the West and about the society these changes reflected. In its Western form, chess featured a queen rather than a counselor, a judge or bishop rather than an elephant, a knight rather than a horse; in some manifestations, even the pawns were differentiated into artisans, farmers, and tradespeople with discrete identities.power Play is the first book to ask why chess became so popular so quickly, why its pieces were altered, and what the consequences of these changes were. More than pleasure was at stake, Adams contends. As allegorists and political theorists connected the moves of the pieces to their real-life counterparts, chess took on important symbolic power. For these writers and others, the game provided a means to figure both human interactions and institutions, to envision a civic order not necessarily dominated by a king, and to imagine a society whose members acted in concert, bound together by contractual and economic ties. The pieces on the chessboard were more than subjects; they were individuals, playing by the rules.
